Original era manufacture. Aluminum bodied enlisted canteen with portions of its original brown paint remaining. There is a rather dramatic bullet strike at the base of the canteen, bottom front. The suspension harness is intact, with a washed out name label on the front vertical panel. Original wooden stopper with an improvised twine attaching string. This may be a relic from the Vietnam War, as the harness is a little home-made looking from the normally seen WWII Japanese examples. In either case the bullet strike is quite dramatic.
