Original era manufacture. Japanese WWII Army Steel Helmet,with a dark olive green paint finish inside and out, with a red painted Army star on the helmet's front.Reaching up from the top of the helmet star, are a series of five hand painted Japanese characters in white paint. On the right side is Bougainville Apr 4, painted in an artistic hand, on on the right side, a hand painted Japanese rayed flag.The helmet body exhibits a dramatic entry and exit hole from a bullet, entering the top right side, and exiting in the rear of the helmet body.Inside, the original leather liner is present, however it has been turned inside-out to reveal the original characters written on the liner pads.
