Original era manufacture. Standard WWII Japanese Army steel helmet, complete with liner and original chinstrap. Most of the original paint finish remains on the exterior, with an original star in matching paint. The size mark kanji (large) in white paint on the inside skirt, and three other hand painted kanji as well. Showa 16 (1941) date on the under side of the front liner pad, original adjusting string in place. The stuffed pads remain in the two side liner pockets, the front stuffed pad is not there. Original cloth chinstrap, faded from wear and use, but unbroken, or cut. On the top rear of the helmet is a 10 x 8 mm bullet or shrapnel hole. A very honest WWII Japanese Army helmet with dramatic evidence of WWII service.
