Original era manufacture. This is my best guess as to its use, nice quality piece of equipment. Pouch measures 7x4x6 inches with an attached shoulder strap. Inside is dovetailed wood body generator with a crank on one side and two mounting points on each end. Small fold-up carrying handle. The crank turns freely but I'm too chicken to put my fingers on the contacts to see if they are generating electricity. You can try though...
