Original era manufacture An early aluminum bodied canteen developed under the reign of Emperor Meiji and issued with minor changes, canvas instead of leather suspension into the early 1930s.Cylindrical canteen body with a natual metal finish. Late war woven canvas harness and strap with a zinc adjusting buckle, the cork bodied metal stopper is present but the attaching strap is not.
