Original era manufacture. I cannot find any reference to this interesting piece of Japanese communication equipment in our library, so will surmise it to be an accessory handset for the Type 92 telephone.Brown leather transport case, with loops around the sides and bottom for a shoulder strap, now missing.Inside is a rather archaic looking nickel finish & black composition handset which can be extended in length, witha flip-down cover for the mouthpiece. Thisis attached bycloth covered braided wire to its power source in a similar compartment. Normal age and wear, a well made piece of equipment.
