Original era manufacture. One of our favorite pieces of Imperial Japanese headgear are the blue wool caps worn by the IJN. This is an issue example with the white rectangular tag sewn into the black cotton lining. The dark blue wool body is in sound condition with two stitch repairs on the edge over the wire stiffener. The hat is complete with its original chinstrap and IJN cap tally. A basic translation of the issue tag is: Size is 54 cm. Upper row.Registration number. Lower berth. Name,TAKEDA GENSUKE.
