Original period manufacture. A late war example featuring a blue finished blade without fullers, straight guard, flat bird-head type pommel and non-contoured wooden grips.Most of the original finish remains on the blade and metal fittings, with a clear Arrow-M stamp on the ricasso. Original finish to the wooden grips, displaying minor marring and denting.Sound olive-green painted, two-piece wooden scabbard with a pointed steel chape. The scabbard body is bound with two bands of twine, with a single crack in the wood on one side, running from the bottom of the throat to the too of the upper band of twine.  Most of the original painted finish remains, a clean bayonet overall.
