Original period manufacture. A very clean late war example featuring a blue finished blade without fullers, straight guard, flat type bird-head pommel and noncontoured wooden grips. Most of theoriginal finish remains on the metal fittings. Pointed tip wood scabbard with two bands of wire binding,about 80% of the original olive green paint finish remains. Minor crack in the wooden body just below the scabbard throat.
