Original period manufacture. A scarce, late war example identify as LB-150, variation U, in Ray Labar's book, Bayonets of Japan, where it is listed with a rating of scarce/rate rating of 7. Square pommel, non-contoured wooden grips with a slab-type, rectangular crossguard. Late type blade made without fullers. Cleaned steel finish to the pommel, guard and blade but no other issues no nicks or corossion pitting. The grips are sound but have been cleaned. Nice late war wooden scabbard with no cracks in its surface and with its thick cord binding in good shape. Just some minor flaking to the dark olive green paint finish. Good quality replica leather frog is mounted to the scabbard.
