Original period manufacture. A clean late war example featuring a blue finished blade without fullers, straight guard, square pommel and slightly contoured wooden grips.Most of the original finish remains on the metal fittings and blade with evidence of light pitting to the blade finish, and a touch of surface corrosion on the pommel.Nice wooden scabbard made in two halves, with most of the original olive green paint remaining. The cord binding is missing. Thin cracks in the wood below the scabbard throat, and above the chape.
