Original period manufacture. A clean late war example featuring a blue finished blade without fullers, straight guard, square pommel and slightly contoured wooden grips. Most of the original finish remains on the metal fittings and blade. As stated the blade is clean, but does show some light pitting along both sides.  Very nice original finish wood grips, displaying minimal wear and use.  Sound wooden scabbard with two bands of string binding. There is a thin, diagonal crack in the wooden body, running through the topmost band of binding, the edges of the scabbard show some scattered wear to the paint surface.
