Original period manufacture. A late war example featuring a blue finished blade without fullers, square type pommel and slightly contoured wooden grips. Minor amount of light surface corrosion on the pommel, none on the blade.  Original paint to the  two-piece wooden scabbard with a pointed steel chape. The scabbard body is bound with two bands of twine, minor age and wear. The blade is a little tight fitting to the scabbard. Overall a decent late war example.
