Original era manufacture. Late war pattern sword with a machine made blade. The blade is clean with no corrosion pitting, just some discoloration from old cosmoline preservative. The cutting edge has a few, extremely shallow, nicks or bumps, more felt than seen, the point is sharp. Simple black iron tsuba and pommel cap. A very old, period looking woven blue knot runs through the pommel, looks like it has been there forever. The grip wrapping appears to be the correct type but is incorrectly tied, the two menuki can be felt beneath the wrapping near the pommel. Dent free steel scabbard with near 100% original paint, all fittings present and accounted for.
