Original era manufacture. Square pommel, straight guard and grips with a blue finished, later pattern blade without fullers. Clear Jinsen arsenel proof on the ricasso, with a general unfinished look to the blade surface, typical for this late pattern bayonet. The two piece wooden scabbard shows a simple lacquered finish with a squared off tip. It is bound in two places with twine and has a metal scabbard loop at the throat. The scabbard loop is pierced to accept a screw but doubtful if one was ever installed. The scabbard body shows typical cracking but there are no missing pieces. Sound, original bayonet.
