Original era manufacture. Straight guard, flat bird-head pommel, contoured wooden grips and a blade made without fullers. Clean blue finish to the blade with sover very light, scattered areas of surface corrosion on each side. Sound original finish wooden grips displaying light marring and denting, steel patina finish to the pommel and guard with light surface corrosion. Square tipped wooden scabbard bound with two bands of twine. Very nice brown leather frog with no issues.Purchased from the family of Mr. G.A.Boyd, who served with the 11th ABN during WWII.
