Original period manufacture. Dark blue wool topped private purchase hat with a standard purplue silk lining named to Tanaka. No mothing to the body of the hat, however there is some age fraying to the mohair cap band, nice gold bullion IJN officers emblem at front. Original brown cloth covered storage box with a Navy anchor design sewn into the interior of the lid. The box is trimmed in leather, mostly dry at this point and flaking.
