Original era manufacture. A well worn example, definitely a hat that didn't spend WWII sitting in a closet, or hat box. Dark blue wool body with a removable black mohair quilted cap band displaying a very toned gold bullion officers cap emblem. Patent leather chinstrap and visor, the chinstrap being secured with two gilt brass navy pattern buttons. Black leather sweatband with a typical maroon silk lining with white stitched characters. The body of the hat shows some scattered mothing, nothing severe, and the white cotton top hides that pretty well. The chinstrap is broken on one side, but is fine for display as it does not move around.
