Original era manufacture. Black painted metal case, with a glass dial at front, and below an adjusting knob. On the top of the case is a painted nomenclature plate with a Navy anchor. Normal age and wear, the dial does not move, nor does the adjusting knob. Instruments of this type were could be found on the following IJN aircraft; Nakajima J1N1 "Irving", Yokosuka P1Y "Frances", Nakajima C6N "Myrt", Nakajima G8N "Rita", Nakajima G5N "Liz" and the experimental, sub-carried, single engine float plane Aichi M6A Seiran (Clear Sky Storm). Which was developed late in WWII for planned attacks on the United States.
