Original period manufacture. A complete example, even retaining its thin elastic chincord. Black beaver hat with black mohair trim and gold wire end pieces and cockade with IJN button. The interior is of white quilted silk with a wide brown leather sweatband. The hat shows wear and use, with the ends being able to be moved up and down a bit. However the crown is not crushed and it looks proper sitting for display.
