Original era manufacture. A very clean 27 inch polished steel blade with clear temper marks on each side of the cutting edge. No nicksin the cutting edge, the point is quite sharp and there are no corrosion issues. The tang is unsigned, the mounting peg is missing. Ornate castiron tsuba, with original cloth wrapping on the grip with twogilt decorated iron menuki set into the lacing. Simple black iron pommel cap. Black lacquered wooden scabbard covered with a tan leather casing. The scabbard feels sound beneath the leather covering, with a single steel suspension loop attached to a nickel finished support. The tan covering displays wear and use, in the form of surface scuffs and an oval shaped tear on one side.
