Original era manufacture. See page 309, Style #4, Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945, Cyclopedia Edition by Jim Dawson. The plain blade measures 22 inches  in length, clean, runs straight and true, with a few small nicks in the cutting edge. Plain brass guard and backstrap with a single cherry blossom decoration on the pommel. Black painted grip bound with triple strand brass wire.  Chrome finished steel scabbard with two suspension rings. Very clean condition. The linked chain looks to be an addition by a previous owner.
