Original era manufacture. A three piece lot which consists of the following; rubberized canvas enlisted waist belt with a black painted, single prong frame buckle, a rubberized canvas bayonet frog, and a type 38 rubberized canvas ammunition pouch. All of the components appear to have been together since the war, and exhibit the same wear and use. The belt is stiff from age with light surface cracking and checking, but no missing portions of the rubberized finish. The frog shows some minor fraying on the sides of the belt loops, but looks to still be able to fit a bayonet scabbard inside, and the leather securing strap is pliable and the steel buckle is present. The ammunition pouch is also stiffened from age, the leather top strap is present and pliable, and the belt loops are open enough to slip over a belt. The top hinge is very stiff and can be raised about a half an inch with care. The set presents a project of sorts, I have heard of folks softening up stiffened rubberized canvas items, so hope springs eternal.
