Original period manufacture. Standard Japanese type 30 helmet which was reconditioned and issued to the Royal Thai forces after WWII. Simple black leather suspension & liner with a canvas chinstrap, and its original brass Royal Thai front plate intact.Thousands of these helmets were imported into the US back in the 1970's, some even had original Japanese paint finish and yellow stenciled anchors. Most were stripped of the Thai modifications, with attempts to restore them to their original Japanese configuration.Not many of the original Thai modified helmets remain intact today, much like the Norwegian re-issued WWII German steel helmets.
