Original era manufacture. Late Japanese WWII Type 30 bayonet and wooden scabbard, made by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. Blue finish blade made without fullers, straight guard, square pommel with contoured wooden grips. Mix of blue and steel patina finish to the blade, with scattered areas of light surface corrosion. Dark steel patina finish and light surface pitting to the guard and pommel, sound wooden grips with scattered staining and denting from service use.Unpainted wooden scabbard, bound with twine in two spots. The scabbard is basically sound, having a crack and missing portions of wood near the throat on one side.
