Original period manufacture. A standard example with a hooked guard, contoured wood grips with a bright finished blade, and flat, bird head pommel.The blade is bright with scattered staining, and evidence of old cleaned corrosion, clear Kokura proof on the ricasso.Original finish to the wooden grips, displaying typical marring and denting from service use. Blue steel finished scabbard, with a dent on the front side, and several smaller ones on the reverse.
