Original period manufacture. Type 30 bayonet by Kokura, with a bright finished blade which is quite clean, with no pitting. Hooked guard, contoured wood grips with a rounded bird-head pommel. Mix of blue and surface corrosion on the guard and pommel, typical marring to the wood grips which retain their original finish. Small surface chip on the left side by the guard.Dent free blue finished scabbard with light surface corrosion and staining, but no pitting. Very nice bright finished blade, a classic example of the WWII Japanese service bayonet.
