Original era manufacture. Hooked guard, contoured wood grips, rounded bird-head pommel and bright finished blade. Decent early-ish example showing a steel patina to the blade finish. The blade shows a salt-pepper finish from old cleaned corrosion but overall is quite sound. Decent wood grips secured with two attaching screws. The scabbard shows scattered surface denting and an old black paint finish. An old collection tag indicates this bayonet was for a hook safety rifle, or perhaps came off of a hooked safety rifle, don't know..
