Original era manufacture. Japanese WWII Type 30 bayonet and metal scabbard. Kokura arsenal mfg.Bright finish blade with fullers, hooked guard, flat birdhead pommel and smooth finish contoured wood grips.The blade is bright and clean with clear markings on the ricasso. Evidence of period service sharpening, with a single shallow nick in the cutting edge. Dark steel patina to the guard and pommel with areas of cleaned corrosion pitting. Sound wooden grips with minor surface denting and staining, with a dark finish. Relatively dent-free steel scabbard, with a mix of original blue and light surface corrosion, no deep pitting.
