Original era manufacture. A very nice example of the classic WWII Japanese Type 30 bayonet, as used in all theaters of WWII by the IJA.Blue finished blade, straight guard, contoured wood grips, with a squared pommel. Most of the original blue finish remains on the blade, with a mix of blue and steel patina on the guard and pommel. The edge exhibits factory sharpening with a few scattered nicks in the edge. Original finish wooden grips, displaying typical wear and denting from service use.Nice original blue finish to the steel scabbard, with a single dent on the obverse, with minimal surface corrosion evident.A sound brown leather frog, tight stitching, with scuffing and dryness to the leather from age and wear; the securing strap is intact.
