Original period manufacture. Straight guard, rounded birdhead pommel, contoured wood grips with a blue finished blade.The blade is quite clean, displaying a steel patina finish with traces of blue remaining. No nicks in the cutting edge, and no corrosion issues, just minor staining from service use. Blue and steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Original finish wooden grips with minor marring to the surface.Old black paint to the steel scabbard surface, with a few scattered, shallow dents. The scabbard has a well-made, post WWII leather frog, which shows age, but I do not feel to be original.
