Original era manufacture. A complete wooden stock and fittings for the 7.7 caliber Type 99 rifle as used by Imperial Japan during WWII.The stock comes with the following, stock with two piece butt, front stock band with integral bayonet lug, cleaning rod (non-functioning), upper handguard, lower barrel band, trigger guard, floor plate and follower, lower sling fitting, and a wooden butt plate. The stock is interesting in that it appears to be a transition example, as features of early production stocks were retained in its assembly; hole for a monopod in the lower barrel band, non-functioning cleaning rod, or perhaps now used as a stacking rod. The stock is clean, original finish to the wood, with normal dings and dents from handling and service use. The only flaw to mention is a shallow chip in the wood surface forward of the front screw on the trigger guard.
