Original era manufacture. Stamped brass with two attaching loops on the reverse. Online sources indicate, this pattern badge was worn by Rifle Brigade reinforcement units (companies?) 9-13. These were apparently unofficial badges, worn by the men until reaching front line units. More information to be found in the book, NZ Reinforcement Badges 1914-1918, by Geoffrey Lowe.
