Original era manufacture. Blue wool issue trousers with a 1 1/4 inch red wool stripe, piped in white, on each out seam, extending down from the waistband to the bottom of the cuff. Single, crescent shaped, pocket on the right hip, with an adjustable cloth belt above. White cotton lined waistband and pockets, with an oval shaped issue stamp in red ink, on the left front of the inner waistband, blurred, but the words PHILA.DEPOT can be clearly seen. The cuffs of the trouser legs have been turned up 3.5 inches on each leg, these can be let down if desired. The waistband measures out to about a 34 waist. The trousers are fairly moth free for their age, the largest bit of mothing being two 5mm holes on the rear of the right leg. Full complement of waist and fly buttons, one of which is a period replacement. There is some soiling on the right hip, just below the pocket opening, extending out to the leg stripe, and about a foot down the leg itself. No doubt a careful cleaning can help with this.
