Item #69822 : Original period manufacture. Wonderful old business letterhead from A.A.Castaneda & Co. in Bisbee AT, requesting $150 in silver be sent by stage driver from Tombstone. Please only Dollars, Halves & Quarters, we have plenty of dimes & nickles. Signed by Mr. Castaneda himself, dated January 7 1885. Cochise County Bank, Tombstone A.T. oval ink stamp receipt dated the next day January 8. Without question, this would have been an armed stage delivery as desperadoes and Apache warriors were still on the prowl in 1885. The Bisbee Massacre occurred only about 18 months prior. A.A. Castaneda served as the municipal bank in Bisbee in those days, often holding the payroll for the Copper Queen mine in their safe. Mr.Castaneda's business partner was Barry Goldwater's grandfather.
