Original period manufacture. Polished steel blade which measures 31 inches in length, lightly etched on each side with naval motifs and the Peruvian sun emblem. Maker marked on the reverse ricasso ESB Solingen. Mellow brass patina to the basket guard and lionhead pommel, with one side of the guard folding up for wear. White fishskin wrapped grip with twisted brass wire binding. Black leather bodied scabbard with an old crease about midway down its length. No break however, nice quality brass fittings with a fouled anchor emblem below a Peruvian sun. The blade is clean but shows scattered spotting and staining from age but no pitting or sharpening. German quality throughout nice example from one of the smaller Navies of the world.
