US Civil War Identified New York Soldier, Musician Grouping, 20th NY Inf'y
Item #53687 : Original period photography. An identified grouping of one William Potter, a resident of Mercer County New Jersey, who enlisted as a Musician in the 20th New York Infantry on the 1st of July, 1861. He was discharged from the 20th New York in August 1862 near Harrison's Landing. The lot includes photo copies of his discharge and pension applications, an 1880's CDV image of him in uniform and holding an over-the-shoulder instrument, a later life tintype image of him in GAR uniform with kepi, walking stick and medal, and lastly a Grand Army of the Republic membership medal & ribbon.
