Item #68681 : Original period manufacture. Group to included an 1899 dated Discharge, Insurrection era cabinet card photo, large cabinet style image of five soldiers and a large sepia image of officers and nco's ot Massachusetts Militia circa 1898. The discharge was given to John J. Fitzgerald, late of Company H (not C) 8th Massachusetts Infantry. The Insurrection era cabinet card shows a Filipino photographers name on the bottom, with Fitzgerald's name written on the reverse. The large horizontal cabinet type image depicts five soldiers, three armed with 45-70 rifles, nice elaborate inscription on the reverse. Lastly, a very nice sepia image 8.5 x 11 inches, of three officers and 11 noncoms all wearing their dress uniforms. During the Spanish American War, the 8th Massachusetts served from January-April 1899 in occupation duty in Cuba.
