Original era manufacture. A stamped steel helmet with a fluted crown, reportedly manufactured in Britain and referred to as the M1916 pattern. This example has a French blue paint finish, mixed with steel patina, and is missing its liner and chinstrap.Portugal entered the war on the side of the Allies in March of 1916. Their manpower contribution was understandably small, nonetheless over 50,000 troops served on the Western Front during the war.
