Item #69567 : Original period manufacture. Lot of five, late 19th, early 20th century French postcards, honoring the heroic defense by French troops of a house during the Battle of Sedan, September 1 1870. This incident was made famous by artist Alphonse de Neuville in his painting of the same name. Four of the five cards have been mailed, all are in sound condition. The color image of de Neuville's painting is not included, only for reference.
