Original era manufacture. A very clean bayonet with most of the original blue finish remaining, serial number 522018, with a letter R within a circle indicating Remington manufacture. The interesting thing about this (beyond of course the fact Remington making these for the Czar) is the tubular scabbard and minimalist leather frog that came with the bayonet. The frog has the look of a French Lebel scabbard, but with a flat, Austrian style stud. Slipped over the throat of the scabbard, and secured by the stud, is a very rudimentary brown leather frog and belt loop. I was thinking perhaps used by Finland? The bayonet fits fairly well going in one way only, but the steel condition of the bayonet is far superior to the surface of the scabbard.
