Original era manufacture. A very sound example of the issue Saxon infantry enlisted helmet, pattern of 1871. No extra holes behind the wappen, both visors are securely sewn to the helmet body, even brass patina finish to the metal fittings and a single Saxon pattern and style cockade on the right side of the helmet, correct for this era. Unit markings deeply stamped into the rear visor with remnants of a paper name tag in the front of the crown. About the only comment I could add in the negative column would be that the leather connecting strap for the chin scales is missing. I wish I had room on my shelves for this one.
