Original era manufacture. A very well made Scottish Highland shield made by Andrew Barr of Abbey Studios. The wooden bodied shield measures 14 inches across with a hand carved leather covering set with steel nails for decoration. At center is a three dimensional painted leather Scottish Lion encircled by nails.On the reverse ofthe shield is a chain for hanging and a paper label giving details regarding it's manufacture. Would guess its age to be mid to late 20th Century. Very sound condition and ready for your wall.
