Original era manufacture. Scarce Model 1920 Officer's sword. Kingdom of Serbs., Croats and Slovenes. In 1929 they became The Kingdom of Yugoslavia. German manufacture Alexander Coppell.Loosely based on the German 1889 cavalry sword, with a composition grip and partial pipe backed blade. The blade measures 32 inches in length, with etched panels on each side, with the obverse showing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia.The blade is clean, with scattered areas of frosting on the surface, and a few small nicks in the cutting edge; there is a slight bend to the left about 8 inches back from the point. Ornate cast alloy hilt with a lion head pommel. Composition grip, with a sizable chip in the bottom near the base of the guard. Faded chrome finished steel scabbard with light scattered denting.
