Original era manufacture. Silver medal with an enameled star presented to serving Red Army officers in 1938 to honor the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Red Army. Sadly, many of those same officers were executed in Stalin's purges of the officer corps prior to WWII. Period medal with a postwar suspension.
