Original period manufacture. M1935 pattern Gymnastiorka with handsewn collar insignia and sleeve rank. Full complement of star decorated brass buttons with movable shanks on the pockets and cuffs, black painted steel buttons behind the hidden front. The collar and cuffs are piped in infantry magenta, with matching magenta background to the collar insignia, which is also piped in gold wire. Just above the cuff on each sleeve are a trio of gold brocade chevrons stitched to a brown wool backing material. The red enameled rank diamonds are secured with tiny screws and domed securing nuts. The tunic shows fading where it should; behind the pocket flaps, bottoms, behind the collar tabs and sleeve chevrons, and over the left breast pocket can be seen holes where a number of screwback orders were once worn. Inside can be seen an issue ink stamp just above the bottom hem. Normal age and wear throughout, size is about a 40.***We have added a number of additional photos of the coat to the listing. I tried to get better detail of the medal mounting holes, insignia, and fading around the collar and behind the front securing flap.
