Original era manufacture. Very similar in design to the German 71/84 bayonet, but with a taller guard and muzzle ring.Hump-backed grip, German makers marks on the ricasso, with a 10 inch polished steel blade, with fullers on each side. The blade exhibits considerable staining along its length, it has not been sharpened and the point is sharp.Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, original finish wooden grips which display typical marring and denting from service use.Sound, black leather bodied scabbard with intact stitching; steel patina finish to the throat and chape.There is a 2 mm gap between the bottom of the guard, and top of the scabbard throat when the blade is inserted.
