Spanish Soldiers Knapsack Flag, 1860-1927, Printed Cotton, Infanteria Rgt Africa No.4
Item #69462 : Original period manufacture. Printed cotton flag, "Bandera de Mochila" a bandana or handkerchief, a typical item of issue to the Spanish soldier during the years 1860-1927. This example measures 30x36 inches, with scattered staining and several small stains and tears. These proved to be a popular souvenir amongst American Soldiers in Cuba, Puerto Rico and later the Philippines. This regiment evidently served as part of the Moroccan garrison in North Africa. Our example likely dates to the later era of issue.
