Original era manufacture. A French inspired shako of the mid to late 1850's, featuring a black fur covered cardboard body with a leather top, liner, visor and pull-down chinstrap. Brass crossed schutzen rifles regimental number on the front, below a white-green metal  cockade and a green-yellow red wool pompom. Sound condition for its age, no moth damage.
