Original period manufacture. Massive Pioneer short sword manufactured by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, featuring a 20.5 inch polished steel blade with a sawback spine. Blue steel finished guard and pommel, with simple wooden grips secured with two flush ground steel rivets.Blue steel finished scabbard, with near zero denting and just a touch of light surface corrosion. The blade finish is very, very clean, just some slight runner wear and no pitting. Clear markings on the ricasso, including the number 16, which may be the year of manufacture. This is only the second example of this pattern sword which we have offered, the last one was in 2012 and it was without a scabbard. Excellent Swiss quality throughout.
